Surprise, Surprise

A year can change a lot of things

This time last year Iris and I were happily walking out with our new granddaughter showing her the world delighting in being able to share the things she saw and enjoying every minute of our Thursday outings.

Well as they say ‘stuff happens’ and while I did promise that Lily’s escapades would be recorded so much happens that to mark every event I would need a full time secretary.  Well I did marry one but that’s another story.

The photo above gives the game away – Amy Isla Charlotte has arrived on the scene about 16 months after Lily.

What can I say, I look at Amy, I nervously hold her, being a grandfather twice over later that we thought is a bit stressful.  Well it is for me.  But we do have double joy, and a double buggy!  She is still very close to her mum and we did have a few days of worry but she has come through and is now looking around her world trying to make sense of it all.

One month old babies just need to fed on demand, sleep as much as possible while denying sleep to her parents and have her every need catered for.  It one end and out the other if you get the picture.

We did wonder how Lily would react but she, we think, has taken a new face and rival for her mum and dad’s affection very well.

I do promise to keep these two new members of our family more in the foreground and post my blogs.  But sometimes I find that just living the life takes every hour I have . . . . .
